Featured MBS Faculty Member

by Krystle Reilly

Dr. Siagian graduated from the University of Oregon in 2002 with a Ph.D. in Accounting. After graduating, he returned to Indonesia, where he was the Director of the Ph.D. and Masters programs in Accounting for the University of Indonesia.

He joined the faculty of the Maine Business School in September, 2007, teaching accounting courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. His research focuses on two major areas. The first focuses on the creation of audit committees and boards of directors in Indonesia. The second topic analyzes CEO compensation and whether they are rewarded for manipulating earnings in the US.

He currently teaches auditing and managerial accounting at the undergraduate level and financial statement analysis to graduate students. He says he enjoys photography and Broadway musicals, and wants to try skiing next winter, but he is looking forward to the end of his first winter here and enjoying his first beautiful Maine summer.
