GBA Events
Network... professionally and socially...
Ongoing events:
- Fusion Bangor - The GBA heavily promotes Fusion Bangor events to our colleagues. Fusion is the young professionals networking group in Bangor, Maine and gives students the opportunity to socialize with other local professionals through monthly luncheons, socials, and other exciting events. Click on Fusion Bangor above to visit their webpage.
- BUA 1000 - A social event. A chance to relax with colleagues. A unique atmosphere to get to know your professors. BUA 1000 is the fun and entertaining weekly event hosted by the GBA at one of Greater Bangor's many local establishments. The GBA calendar has more information on each week's location and "guest lecturers".
- Professional Discussions, Lectures, and Internship Presentations - When professionals come to visit the business school, one of their top priorities is to meet with MBA and MSA students. Upcoming morning, luncheon, or evening discussions are always posted on the calendar. The GBA also tries to offer lectures throughout the year specifically tailored to topics requested by MBA and MSA students. If you have an interest in a specific lecture, contact the GBA President. Finally, many of the formal internships offered at the business school are promoted directly by the companies that offer them. They typically visit the school at least once a year to present their internships and provide information on interview and job opportunities. Visit the calendar for more information.
Annual events:
- Alumni Homecoming - Each Fall the GBA hosts an alumni event for homecoming weekend. The goal is to bring alumni back to the business school to reconnect with professors, meet current students, and of course visit with old friends. This is also an opportunity to network, find possible interns or employeees, and give alumni the chance to discover how they can become more involved with the Maine Business School.
- Graduation Banquet - Each Spring, at the end of finals week, the GBA celebrates the most recent graduating class by inviting all the current and graduating students, faculty, and staff, along with local employers who have been involved with the MBS throughout the year, to a semi-formal banquet with dinner and presentations. The banquet has been a huge hit in the past, and is a wonderful way to say farewell to colleagues.
